Description: This session will review the Scheduling process from the Course Catalog to Analyzing a Scheduling Run. If you are new to Scheduling or want a refresher on the process, this session will give you the tools you need to get your students scheduled.

Title:  Cognos: Repeater Tables, What are they good for?

Description: If you have ever struggled to get a mailing label based on a filter that is not available in eSchoolPLUS, Repeater Tables in Cognos Report Studio are the answer!  During this session, we’ll create a mailing label and explore how to use a Repeater Table as part of a List report.

Description: The Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) is a mandatory data collection by the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) of the U. S. Department of Education. The CDRC is a biennial survey of LEAs that gathers data on key education and civil rights issues in our nation’s public schools. During this session you will learn to configure eSchoolPLUS to gather the required information.

During the program you will learn:

  • Learn what data elements are required
  • Learn to create Student Groups to count students in Race and Service groupings
  • Learn to tag courses
  • Learn to tag test scores
  • How to track behavior incidents
  • How to track excessive absences

·         Learn to produce the required reports

Description: This session is designed for those who are new to report writing in Cognos 10 and for those who want a refresher on the basics.  We will create a Class List using Report Studio and the data items found in the Scheduling folder.  Along the way we will create a header, page breaks, calculated fields and prompts.

·         How to work with prompts and display prompt responses in the Header

Title:  Cognos for Teacher Access Center

Description: This session is appropriate for those who have experience with Report Studio in Cognos 8 or 10 and want to learn how to modify/write Cognos reports for teachers. During this session we’ll review and test the security needed to provide your teachers access to Cognos reports for their students assigned to them through their Homeroom, Scheduled Courses or Activities. We will also create a report using the filters provided in the Cognos model and view the results as a teacher. Session will be conducted using Cognos 10 but will work for districts with Cognos 8. This is NOT for Districts using Cognos 7 (Impromptu).

During the program you will learn:

·         How to set up a folder for teachers to access Cognos
·         Check security for other folders
·         How to write/modify a report for teachers to access
·         Use personal items in TAC Cognos reports
·         How to impersonate and view  a Cognos report for a teacher
·         Attendees  will receive copies of reports  created in session (.xml)

Who Should Attend: Experienced report writers who wish to make Cognos reports available for teachers.

Title:  Using Whiteboard to Create a Master Schedule

Description: Whiteboard provides a graphical, easy to use interface for creating and maintaining a Master Schedule.  Copy your Master Schedule from year to year?  Use Whiteboard to tweak and move sections.  Run Master Schedule Builder?  No problem, you can run the Builder first and then use Whiteboard or use Whiteboard first to place specific courses and then run the Builder to fill in around them.  You can even run the Student Scheduler from Whiteboard!  This session is designed for those administrators who are comfortable with the scheduling process and want to learn how to integrate Whiteboard into their current procedures.

During the program you will learn:

·         How to navigate Whiteboard panes and customize the Whiteboard interface

·         Understand Best Fit recommendations

·         How to place new course sections

·         How to move and modify existing course sections

·         How to view Student, Staff and Room conflicts

Title:  Career Planner 4.0

Description: Take your graduation requirements a step further and build Career Plans that allow your students to see their four years of high school courses from the beginning of their freshman year. Career Plans can speed the course request process by displaying the core courses students need to complete to satisfy their Plan. With multiple Career Plans in place students can visualize different high school career paths. Please note that Career Plans that span more than 4 years require the use of a District-Wide Course Catalog.
